AFBMTC is a state-of-the-art, specialized centre for blood and bone marrow stem cell transplantation, unique not only in the Armed Forces but in whole of the Pakistan. In addition to stem cell transplant, it also provides specialized care for patients with various blood disorders including blood cancers. The centre provides haemopoietic stem cell transplant facilities to serving armed forces personnel, their families and the civilian population. The hospital carries out 60 – 70 transplants per year.
The Centre is a purpose-built facility with 25 beds, out of these, 6 beds are in a specially built transplant section equipped with facilities of laminar air flow and barrier nursing.
