MQM Stands With PTI In Political Turmoil: Aminul Haq

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) coalition leader MQM and Federal Minister for IT Aminul Haq has said that the MQM stands by the PTI in the current political crisis and as long as the government implements the agreement. Ongoing This partnership will not be broken.

It may be recalled that the anti-government movement of the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM), an alliance of opposition parties in Pakistan, is ongoing. On the other hand, the MQM, an ally of the PTI, which has a small majority in the National Assembly, has expressed reservations. In an interview with a US news agency, Aminul Haq said that his party’s decision to join the federal government after the 2018 general elections has still been valid.

After the 2018 elections, the MQM joined the PTI in forming a government. However, analysts call it an unnatural alliance. The opposition has also suggested that the MQM secede from the government. If the seven-seat MQM separates from the ruling coalition, it will be difficult for the PTI government to maintain a majority in the National Assembly.Amin-ul-Haq said that MQM Pakistan did not want to get ministries or governorship in the government formation agreement with PTI but spoke of development of urban areas of Karachi and Sindh.

He said that the MQM had a keen eye on the ‘Karachi Development Package’ and the federal government would have to continue making positive progress on it to maintain the support of the United States. The MQM is committed to maintaining democracy in the country. As a result, democratic stability and the supremacy of parliament will be established. Aminul Haq further said that PDM has disappointed the people of Sindh by not talking about the problems of urban areas in its meeting in Karachi. The highlight of Prime Minister Imran Khan’s Rs 113 billion development package for Karachi is that the federal and provincial governments are in agreement.

He said that Karachi Transformation Committee (KTC) comprising leaders of PTI, PPP and MQM has been formed to determine the distribution and responsibilities at the federal and provincial levels. He said that after holding several meetings, the committee had divided the development work between the federation and the provincial government and the federation had taken over the responsibility of the largest water project for Karachi. Amin-ul-Haq said that the project, which has been delayed for a decade, would cost Rs 70 billion and would be completed in the next three years. Twelve billion rupees have been allocated in the federal development budget for the Karachi Green Line project and this bus service will start from Surjani Town to Namaish Chowrangi by June.

The United Leader said that only 14 fire tenders were working to put out the fire in a big city like Karachi and at the request of MQM, the federal government had called for 50 fire tenders and two water bowsers for the city. Which will be handed over to Karachi Municipal Corporation next week.He said that it was the responsibility of the provincial government to remove encroachments from Karachi which has been slowing down for the last several months. He said that KTC in its recent meeting had called for a campaign to eliminate encroachments so that the water collected after rains could be drained and the low-lying areas of the city would not be inundated.
