Aafia Siddiqui’s repatriation request, order to submit progress report to federal government in 2 weeks

The Islamabad High Court heard the petition for the release and repatriation of Dr Aafia Siddiqui. The lawyer took the position that it is the responsibility of the state to protect its citizens, no one knows whether Aafia is alive or dead, torture is also being done.

The court said that the Joint Secretary or Foreign Secretary level officer should appear and inform. Deputy Attorney General said that reports are being submitted by the Foreign Ministry today, our consul goes to see Aafia Siddiqui on a monthly basis. ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has termed the Foreign Ministry’s report as unsatisfactory.

The Islamabad High Court inquired whether the present government was taking up the matter with the US government. The state cannot be absolved of its responsibility, who is dealing with this issue in the Foreign Ministry?.

The case was decided 4 years later, today we are standing where we were 4 years ago, we would have written a lot in the report but nothing really happens. The prisoners were brought back from but they are not being brought. The court summoned the report and adjourned the hearing till February 10.
