Industrial output posts 14.45pc Increase in November

ISLAMABAD – Large Scale Manufacturing Industry (LSMI) production in the country witnessed a 14.46 percent growth in November 2020 compared to the same month last year.

Domestic industrial production increased by 1.35 percent on a monthly basis compared to October 2020 production, according to temporary quantum indices of the Large Scale Manufacturing Industry (LSMI) published by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics.

The data was developed for the 2005-06 base year and November 2020, based on the latest data provided by the source agencies. In the period July-November 2020-21, the overall output of LSMI increased 7.41 percent compared to the same period last year. Compared to the July-November 2019-20 period, the production between July-November 2020-21 increased in textiles, food, beverages, tobacco, coke, petroleum products, pharmaceuticals and chemicals. He added that the production of mining products, automobiles, fertilizers, paper and cardboard increased compared to the same period last year. Production declined in observed products, including iron, steel products, electronics, and leather products.

During the July-November 2020-21 period, the local production of the textile industry increased by 0.70 percent, food, beverage, tobacco 3.08 percent, coke, petroleum products 0.09 percent, pharmaceuticals and chemicals 1.02 percent and 0.27 percent, respectively. . compared to the same period last year. Meanwhile, non-metallic mineral production increased 2.66 percent, automobiles 0.32 percent, fertilizer 0.45 percent, paper and cardboard 0.44 percent.
