  • Students that are enrolled in a private higher education institution (HEI).
  • Students registered at any government degree- and postgraduate-granting institutions, as well as allied institutions.
  • students who have previously been given a laptop by the federal or provincial governments.
except for pupils from the AJK, and foreign nationals.
  • Any other students who meet the eligibility requirements but are not included, as determined by the Technical/Steering Committee.
  • Any student whose application has not been submitted electronically or through the online portal will not be considered.
  • At the time of distribution, it will also be decided if a recipient is eligible for the laptop reward.
  • A laptop will not be given to a student if they cannot provide the necessary documentation and evidence of their academic standing in relation to the data that qualified them for one.
  • Anyone chosen for the program who graduated before the laptops was distributed.

Laptop Distribution Strategy/Selection Criteria:

  • The system will screen eligible and ineligible candidates appropriately when the student has submitted an online application through the HEC online portal (before the deadline).
  • Specifically, Name, CNIC, Department, Degree Level, Last Exam Percentage/CGPA, etc., shall be verified by the Focal Person of the appropriate department using their online focal person account.
  • The University Focal Person is the only one who is responsible for the verification.
  • Any mismatch detected in the student’s data will be corrected appropriately by updating/editing student data after acquiring student records from the Institute or the students themselves.
Depending on the application, the focal person may approve, verify, or disapprove the student and may also rectify the situation within the allotted period.
  • A predetermined quote based on eligibility and merit requirements will determine how many laptops each Institute will receive.
  • The automatic process that generates merit lists for each University by HEC will run on the system after the HEC verification deadline has passed.
  • In order for the institutes to cross-check the provisional merit list and respond within 15 days,
  • HEC will then distribute the list to each institute.
  • HEC will distribute the final merit list to the Institutes in accordance with any issues that have been resolved from the preliminary merit list.
  • Every Institute is required to post the final merit list along with an expected distribution date on their notice board, website, or social media page.
  • The public and all students can check the merit standing of each person by visiting the final merit lists, which will also be published on an online portal.

Laptop Distribution Criteria:

Following is a definition of the distribution criteria:

  • In each degree program (Ph.D., MS/M.Phil., and 16 Years of Education), laptops will be distributed solely based on merit.
  • The share will be calculated according to university enrolment, and the laptop quota for each degree program will be established (i.e., university quota, campus quota, degree program quota, department quota, and years-wise distribution).
  • Balochistan HEI’s quota has been set, and 14% (14,000 Laptops) will be distributed there, in accordance with instructions from the PM’s office. Note: Under this allotted quota, students from authorized universities in Balochistan will be accommodated.
  • In accordance with their preferences for enrollment, the remaining 86,000 computers will be distributed among public sector HEIs.
