Khawaja Asif Handed Over To NAB On 14-Day Physical remand

The accountability court handed over PML-N leader and member National Assembly Khawaja Asif to NAB on 14-day physical remand.The case against PML-N leader Khawaja Asif was heard in the accountability court by Admin Judge Jawadul Hassan.During the hearing, NAB officials requested for 14 days physical remand of Khawaja Asif.

The NAB prosecutor said that the inquiry against Khawaja Asif was started on June 23, 2020. He has to be further investigated and therefore physical remand should be granted. Judge Jawad Al-Hassan asked Khawaja Asif if he wanted to say something.

Khawaja Asif said that the first hearing in 2018 is in NAB Pindi. I will speak in Punjabi in the court on which the court allowed Khawaja Asif.PML-N leader said that NAB officials should correct their history, no action was initiated against me in 2020.

He said that he was elected MNA seven times but the case was made for only Rs. 21 crore. There was laughter in the court over the conversation with the eminent judge Khawaja Asif.Khawaja Asif said that NAB officials did not find any concrete evidence against him.The accountability court granted a 14-day remand to Khawaja Asif and ordered him to be produced again on January 13 and adjourned the hearing.

The court allowed Khawaja Asif to meet his wife and lawyers at the NAB office.It may be recalled that NAB had arrested Khawaja Asif two days ago in a case of disproportionate assets from Islamabad and his one-day judicial remand was granted yesterday.
