Pakistan hockey Player Shahida Raza Died in Italy boat accident

The other day, 64 people drowned in a boat tragedy off the coast of Italy, including Pakistani women’s hockey player Shahida Raza.

Shahida, popularly known as Chinttu in her circles, competed for Pakistan in international hockey competitions. She participated in domestic football games as well.

According to sources close to her family, the athlete from Quetta was going through a challenging time in her life as a single mother following the divorce.

Shahida decided to migrate illegally to Europe in order to guarantee a better future.

Shehla Raza, vice president of the Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF), Tanzila Amir Cheema, secretary of the PH Women Wing, and other hockey-related individuals expressed their sorrow over her passing.
