ISLAMABAD – The exchange rate of the Pakistani rupee strengthened 04 paisas against the US dollar in interbank trading on Wednesday and closed at Rs 159.30 compared to the closing of Rs 159.34 the previous day. Meanwhile, according to the Pakistan Forex Association, the dollar buy and sell rates on the open market were recorded at Rs159.1 and Rs159.9 respectively.
According to the State Bank of Pakistan, the euro appreciated 97 pais in interbank trade and closed at Rs 193.26 against Rs 192.29 last day’s transaction. The Japanese Yen gained a paisa and closed at Rs1.52, while the British Pound exchange rate increased by 99 paisa, trading at Rs220.36 compared to the last closing Rs219.37. United Arab Emirates Dirham and Saudi Arabian Riyal exchange rates have dropped 01 paisa to close at Rs 43.37 and Rs 42.47 respectively.
